the perfect skirt

I just love this skirt and the Veronica Lake hair! There's something very confident and appealing about the made up girl. This image was taken from a recent Gucci ad. The other image is from an Yves Saint Laurent advertisement from the late 80's--

I love the feather hat and the dandy velvet jacket. I know that velvet supposedly comes in and out of style but in my mind it doesn't get any cooler than a perfectly cut edwardian style velvet jacket for the winter!

how amazing is this dress

I just wanted to share this amazing dress with you. It's a day dress in crepe from the 1920's and absolutely exquisite. It comes from an estate in Italy. The beading is so breathtaking! Can you imagine finding a dress like this today? I love the tiered ruffles ad bright pink/navy blue combo

trend of the moment: scarf tie tops

I just got the new October issue of Vogue in the mail the other day and as I noticed their “trend of the moment” article on scarves. The article, if you haven’t seen it already, features several models wearing really cute vintage blouses that have built in scarves.

This is a really great look—A lot of vintage Ungaro and Yves Saint Laurent blouses from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s have this feature and I love them! You can do the ties up in a bow- very ladylike or let them hang loose…It was my own Ungaro vintage collection which inspired me to do my own version of the little silk blouse with scarf tie.

We have a cute version with deep square neckline. They come in different vintage silks from the '70's and are limited edition. You will see some more of this style in our Spring ’08 collection as well. I found a really cute silk chiffon featuring a bright pink art deco/ Native American influenced design…so cute, very Miami Beach in the ‘20’s!
