Princess Diana

Another one of my influences for the spring collection came from the late Princess Diana. I always loved her early ‘80’s dresses, many which were designed by British designer Emanuel. He worked for Hardy Aimes for many years but is best known for designing Princess Diana’s wedding dress. I love the ethereal feel of these early gowns and the frothy layers of tulle and ruffles. I like that she wore avant garde high fashion labels like Zandra Rhodes too--whose work I absolutely love! I’ve brought some of that into the spring collection as well as Diana’s one shoulder signature look. The one shoulder asymmetrical dress is just a great silhouette---makes me think of Debbie Harry from Blondie as well. Here are some of my favorite images of her:
